Eve Young is of American Indian, African and Irish descent.  Born near Chicago and a long-time resident of New Mexico, she is an artist, a former administrator of Montclair, New Jersey's ground-breaking Conversations on Race program, and a committed public advocate for the rights of North America's indigenous people.  Her achievements and opinions have been highlighted in New York Magazine, New York Newsday and in the New York Times, as well as on several tri-state area TV and radio stations.  However, her primary focus is on her work as a civil ceremony officiant, specializing in wedding and commitment ceremonies, as well as family and home celebrations.  After several years performing traditional ceremonies as a Clan Mother of the NorthEastern Native American Association, she completed a series of rigorous courses on world religions, philosophy and myth offered by the Celebrant USA Foundation & Institute.  She has been certified by that organization, she is a recognized interfaith minister ordained by the Universal Brotherhood Movement, and she is authorized in the State of New Jersey to conduct wedding ceremonies.
